Jump Rope for Exercise and Fun

For many centuries skipping or roping is considered to be the favorites and interesting pass times for many of the children. Roping can be taken as a game or as an exercise to improve the jumping. A jump rope is normally considered to be sort of a sport for children but if closely realized it can be a good exercise to fight the heart disease and help control some more diseases like type II diabetes and osteoporosis. It also improves strength and vigor. In the modern world jump rope exercise is normally done wearing comfortable aerobic shoes, strong fitness and exercise speed ropes with larger grips and heavier cords. Selection of rope and handles of the jump rope is very important and one should try to choose light weight rope and smaller handles as heavy rope may become clumsy to handle during exercise. More over from the larger handles there may be a chance of slipping during exercise due to sweat.

Manufacturers of the modern age have improved the rope material, adopted new styles and are using various materials to increase the pace of skipping. By the passage of time new varieties have also been added like speed single jump rope, long ropes and double ropes and they are available in different varieties styles and colors. Jump rope can be used for personal exercise as well as some sport competition.

Before adopting the jump rope exercise one must consider four points in mind which could also be defined as four tips for jump rope. Number one is not to jump too high off the ground which is a common mistake done by most of the people. They try to jump higher and higher with every jump this can tire you up very quickly. You should just try to go two to three inches off the ground for a long and smooth go. The second tip is that you should keep varying the speed and jump time, with a constant speed and time. Your exercise time and your speed will not mix by any chance in this case at all.

Third tip is to add different styles and new stuff to your jump rope exercise for example if you are expert enough with normal rope jumps (two-feet-at-a-time style) try adding boxing step style in which one jumps on a single step for a couple of passes and then swap to the other foot. The other style is known as double under in which one passes the rope under the feet twice in a single go. The fourth tip is not to push yourself too much that you increase the pace unnecessarily. For example if one can only jump ten times and then needs to take a break one should not try increasing the jumps if one does not feel comfortable. It is a fact that after some time the number of jumps can easily be increased.

Jump rope is an easy way to burn some serious amount of calories and everybody is aware of this fact. Further details about jump rope-exercise and its history can be searched over internet plus many online shops offer different types and colors of jump ropes which can be purchased online too.
